Corporate Services

When working in private practice I have often found that people come to me seeking help in response to illnesses, situations or events, which have had a severe affect on their quality of life and/or income.

In these situations clients have expressed an appreciation of a rapid, cost effective clinical intervention, especially when it is coupled with effective psycho education and the opportunity to gain new self help skills for both immediate and future use.

I believe that these needs are best met through careful assessment, allowing me to make the best use of evidence-based practice, and tailor my work to each client’s individual needs.

This can be accomplished by treating a client holistically, for example, collaborating with a client in the timing of appointments to minimize inconvenience might be as important as working together to plan homework assignments, or timing trauma work to minimize its impact on personal or professional commitments.

After extensive experience in the NHS which, with ongoing personal and professional development as a high intensity therapist working in both primary and secondary care, I have been able to show consistent success working with referrals over the full range of the diagnostic spectrum and across the continuum of severity. These have ranged from acute episodes requiring brief therapy, to complex cases with lifetime chronicity.

Now I am enjoying the challenge of further developing my private practice, as I see it the fullest expression of my professional abilities and as my long-term future.

I am driven by my belief it is vital to work efficiently and to remain mindful of variables; such as; any limitations in the number of sessions available and any other stipulations that may be set by a corporate funder, as a third party. When working with referrals from commercial sources, it is important to remember that the referring agency and their clients also have needs, these must be met in a timely and professional manner.
